Here are a few views regarding Kick Rexi Out from families we have supported and professional services, to reassure you:

“I contacted Kick Rexi Out as we have been struggling for a long time with my daughters eating and after exploring the medical route and ruling the usual things out we just felt a bit lost and in need of some help.  I attended one of their support sessions and I have to say it was the best thing that I did. It gave me an opportunity to speak with people who have been through a similar situation who just sat, listened didn’t judge and understood.  I no longer felt alone walking through a wilderness not knowing what to do or where to turn.  I also spoke with some professional people who were there who from the outside looking in saw things very differently to us which in turn has set us down a different route of getting the help we need.  They are still checking in with me to see how things are going and helping support keeping me going when things get tough, because unfortunately they do, you come across many obstacles within places that you shouldn’t and at times it gets tough but when supported by people who understand you can keep fighting.  We wouldn’t be on the path we are now and getting the correct help if this support meeting hadn’t been available, so I cannot thank them enough.”

“When people with lived experience come together with those employed professionally to support, the results are truly magical!  Kick Rexi Out has made waves, questioned the system, influenced change and filled social, emotional and knowledge gaps!  Together there is a real chance of making a significant difference for young people and their families.”

“The development of Kick Rexi Out is one of the most inspiring community-led projects I have known. A growing example of a group of people driven by direct experience to make the system better for everyone.  The development of the group has been professional and considered, motivated by the end goals of supporting families experiencing eating disorders to navigate huge and complex challenges. It is widely acknowledged there needs to be far better support and invested in services in mental health and in particular the ED sector – KRO is proactively tackling this in an exemplary way.”

“Thank you so much for speaking with me when you did – you were absolutely lovely and really helpful and it made a difference. You were so generous and sharing of your time and your experiences – it really was very beneficial (extremely positive!) to speak with you. Thank you very much. 🤗
